Eye contact is the oldest language humans share.
It communicates:
interest
trust
desire
curiosity
vulnerability
power
But through a phone screen?
It disappears.
In hybrid VR, developers achieved something unprecedented:
realistic eye contact between avatars.
And the effect is electric.
SwingersNest testers say the first time someone looked them “in the eyes” during VR, they felt a physical reaction — a rush of emotion impossible to experience in text, video, or photos.
Eye contact inside VR triggers the same neurological signals as real life:
Oxytocin release.
Attention.
Emotional bonding.
A sense of being chosen.
You’re not looking at pixels.
You’re looking at a human hiding behind a digital painting.
And somehow… that feels more intimate.
